Letter from James: I was born on 27th December 1968 in Kambu. Am Kikuyu by tribe, Christian and marries with four children. My wife is also a Kikuyu and very hard working. I attended Ofafa Jericho High School up to my O-Levels after which I went to college. At the same time I was helping my brother in attending safaris in different game reserves and national parks in Kenya which fuelled my interest in wildlife. In 1995, I was employed at Voyager Safari Camp in Tsavo West National Park and I worked as a food and beverage supervisor and after two years I changed my career to a driver / guide in Tsavo. I was later transferred to Mara Intrepids in Masai Mara where I worked as the head driver until 2006. The company provided us with a lot of training in different colleges and I attended a course at Utalii College sponsored by the European Union. In 2006, I joined Sunworld Safaris as a driver / guide with a lot of experience in wildlife. My hobbies are sports, listening to music, movies and making new friends. What I enjoy most about being a safari guide is when I meet new people from all over the world, share my knowledge of Kenya with them and ensure that they leave Kenya with a wonderful memory of a great safari |
