Alf Jacob Nilsen was born in 1954 and lives in south-western Norway at the small island of Hidra where he works in school teaching natural history and mathematics. He has been active as a photographer for two decades and is now a part-time professional photographer running the photo agency “Bioquatic Photo” www.biophoto.net and www.biophoto.no Educated as a biologist from the University of Bergen, he focuses mainly on nature photography. He has worked with coral reefs and their biology and has taken a general interest in tropical biology. After traveling a lot to the far east and Australia, he has now focused on Africa and the magnificent wildlife on the African savannah.
