This exclusive Safari is prepared by the association of “Save the Elephants ” in conjunction with Sunworld Safaris. The Safari is conducted on the ground by Sunworld Safaris.
It is a remarkable opportunity for the sponsors of Daphne Sheldrick’s orphanage and its baby elephants, to visit the projects they support and have a unique experience with their elephant calves. Part of the earnings from this Safari are used to support the Association ‘Save the Elephants’ in Germany.

Detailed ItineraryDay 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Upon arrival at the Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by our Sunworld representative, thereafter you will be transfered to Fairview Hotel for overnight stay. (Overnight at Fairview Hotel – Bed & Breakfast)
Day 2: Nairobi
After breakfast we pick you up from Fairview Hotel at 10 o’clock and proceed to Daphne Sheldrick, the famous Elephant Orphanage. Between 11 o’clock and 12 o’clock you will have an opportunity to meet the caretakers of the orphanage who will furnish you with lots of information regarding the Elephants and the project as well. Thereafter depart to restaurant Carnivore for lunch. After Lunch we will make a brief stop at the Supermarket to refill our drinks and Groceries (e.g. Candies or special drinks you might need) which are not included in the package for the next 03 days. Later in the afternoon at around 1700hrs, we take you back to the Elephant Orphanage for a private visit specifically intended for the sponsors. The public is not allowed in at this time. This exclusive visit provides a special opportunity for sponsors to learn more about the project they support and ask the caretakers more questions about the Elephants. You will have a chance to spend more quality time with the little Elephants and see the Stalls where they live as well. (Overnight at Fairview Hotel – Bed & Breakfast)
Day 3: Tsavo East – (Ithumba Camp)
After breakfast depart to Ithumba Camp in Tsavo East. Driver guide and
vehicle will be at your disposal for unlimited game drives. We will try
as much as possible to visit the Elephants frequently and increase our
presence at the release station. A meeting with the Keepers at the
wallow hole is planned for in the afternoon and another one at 1700 hrs.
This Camp is specifically self- catering, without a swimming pool and
has only simple rooms. Our Chef cook will take care of you with
delicious meals throughout your stay. (Overnight at Ithumba Camp full
Day 4-5: Tsavo East (Ithumba Camp )
Spend another 03 nights in this Camp. Driver and vehicle will always be
at your disposal. The daily visits to the Stockades are also guaranteed.
A number of spectacular and breathtaking wildlife sightings await you
during the Safari. In the camp our Chef cook will continue serving you
with fresh delicious meals everyday. (Overnight at Ithumba Camp – Full
Day 6: Tsavo East - Voi Area
After an early morning breakfast we depart to Voi Safari Lodge to
arrive in time for Lunch. We will spend the afternoon discovering the
Park with extended game drive and a visit to the forth release station
of the Orphaned Elephants. (Overnight at Voi Safari Lodge-
Day 7: Tsavo East (Voi)
one more day in this magnificent park. Daily visits to the Elephants
and unlimited game drives are guaranteed. If time allows, we can
undertake an excursion to the famous Lugard Falls on the Galana River
where you may leave the vehicle for a while and take a walk to the
rapids. You will enjoy your Lunch in form of Picnic along the beautiful
Galana River. (Overnight at Voi Safari Lodge- Full board)
Day 8: Tsavo East – Chyulu Hills (Kibwezi Forrest )
After breakfast you depart to Kibwezi Forest, this is a conservation area where another release station for the Elephants has been set. You will spend the rest of the day in Umani Springs, a self catering house managed and run by the Sheldricks. A visit to the new Stockades is planned for in the afternoon. Our chef cook will continue serving you with fresh delicious meals everday. (Overnight at Umani Springs- Full board)
Day 9: Chyulu Hills (Kibwezi Forrest )
After a heavy delicious breakfast, depart with picnic Lunches to the famous Chylu Hills National Park where you will spend the rest of the afternoon. Chyulu is a beautiful Park which boasts of magnificent scenery.This is a truly magical area of ragged craters, rolling grassland, exotic aromatic plants and cedar forests not forgetting the diverse wildlife. We will end the days activities with one visit to the Stockades before returning to Umani Spring for overnight. (Overnight at Umani Springs – Full board)
Day 10: Chyulu Hills (Kibwezi Forrest ) – Nairobi:
After breakfast, depart to Nairobi to arrive in the city at around 1600hrs. Visit the Elephants Orphanage again at 17.00 Hrs. Proceed for dinner at a Restaurant of your choice (own account). This is a good opportunity for participants to take a recap of the Safari before their international flights. After dinner we transfer you to the Airport for your international flight departing from Nairobi.

Please note: We advise all the Safari participants to travel with soft bags and a maximum of 20kgs per person due to the limited luggage space in the vehicle.
