This safari offers great diversity in terms of landscapes & wildlife, but focuses especially on East Africa’s “famous Big Cats”. You will stay in small luxury tented camps off the common tourist beaten track, offering highly personalized service, home cooked meals and an opportunity to get to know the local people and their unique culture. Transportation will be in our custom safari built 4 x 4 Landcruisers with experienced and knowledgeable driver/guides. Ideal for those who wish to stay “off the beaten track” away from large tourist crowds and who are interested in seeing the country by road. NAIROBI – AMBOSELI – LAKE NAIVASHA - MAASAI MARA - LAKE NAKURU - SWEETWATERS - NAIROBI (MOMBASA) Meal Plan:BB - bed & breakfast (breakfast only) HB - half board (breakfast & dinner) FB - full board (breakfast, lunch & dinner) ItineraryDAY 01: Nairobi arrival - Selenkay Conservation Area.Arrive in Nairobi early morning hours & After breakfast depart for Selenkay Conservation Area, bordering the world famous Amboseli National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at your Bush Camp. In the afternoon enjoy a game drive to explore the Conservation Area or you will be escorted on a bush walk by Maasai trackers and a guide, who will give you an insight into their fascinating culture and way of life. Return to camp for a shower, dinner and overnight at Amboseli Porini Camp. (FB, soft drinks & activities)

After an early breakfast, we drive through the bush on a private track into Amboseli National Park for a full morning game drive carrying a picnic lunch along. You may encounter some of Kenya’s largest herds of elephants with the majestic snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop. Upon return to Selenkay late afternoon, we invite you for a sundowner on Olosinkiran Hill. Return to camp for dinner followed by a possible night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, African wild cats, and maybe even the elusive leopard. Overnight at Amboseli Porini Camp. (FB) DAY 03: Amboseli National Park – Lake Naivasha After an early breakfast depart for Lake Naivasha via the city of Nairobi. Drive through the breathtaking Great Rift Valley (with a short stop at viewpoint) past extinct volcanoes to the lakeshore where the former home of Joy & George Adamson, ELSAMERE is located. Arrive in time for lunch. The afternoon is at your disposal to either relax in the tropical garden rich in birdlife or to visit Joy’s Museum. Extra incentives are the endangered White & Black Colobus monkey which love to use the various Yellow Acacia Trees at the lodge. Dinner & overnight at Elsamere. (FB)

After breakfast depart for the famous and diverse Mara Game Reserve, driving past Mount Longonot & Suswa and the Maasai Town of Narok, arriving for a later lunch at your luxury tented Bush Camp. Enjoy a spectacular afternoon game drive in the Reserve, home to the Big Cats and other animals that inhabit the area. Dinner and overnight at Porini Lion Camp /Mara Porini Camp / Mara Bush Camp. (FB) DAY 05 & 06: Masai Mara Spend full days in the Masai Mara with unlimited game drives to explore bush, steppe and fantastic game sightings. The Mara boasts the highest concentration of animals in the whole of Africa…On one of the days you will visit a traditional Maasai village whereby you can experience and learn about the day to day lives of the local tribesman and their survival in the bush. Meet the warriors who herd their cattle, sheep and goats amongst hyena, lion and leopard; ancient people living in harmony with nature. Traditional dances will be performed and a small Masai market where you can buy some souvenirs. Meals and overnight at Mara Porini Camp / Porini Lion Camp / Mara Bush Camp. DAY 08: Lake Nakuru National Park – Sweetwater’s Private Game Sanctuary Wake up at dawn for your early morning game drive. This is the best time to search for the Big Cats and with some luck you may find them with a kill or trying to hunt. After breakfast depart via the Nyahuhuru escarpment on a scenic drive past the Aberdare Mountain Range and Thompson Waterfalls to Sweetwater’s Game Sanctuary. Arrive in time for lunch at Porini Rhino Camp. Afternoon game drive in the Sanctuary, home to elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, Oryx, silver backed jackal and much more. Dinner and overnight at Porini Rhino Camp. (FB) DAY 09: Sweetwater’s Private Game Sanctuary Spend a full day in Sweetwaters with unlimited game drives to include a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary; one of it’s only kind in Kenya, founded by world famous Jane Goodall. You have the chance to touch “Morani” the tame rhino and visit the the Sanctuary’s education center. With a bit of luck you may capture a view the majestic snow capped Mount Kenya which can be well seen from Sweetwaters. All meals and overnight at Porini Rhino Camp. (FB) DAY 10: Wake up at dawn for your last morning game drive and breakfast afterwards. Depart at 10.30 hrs for Nairobi to arrive approx. 3,5 to 04 hrs later. Shopping opportunity where you can also grab a bite to eat (at your own arrangement) at Village Market. Early evening transfer to the international Airport or Wilson for your onward flight to the coast or back home.
