17.09.2009 - The migration is still in full force and continues to impress guests
and photographers alike from all over the world! Large herds of
wildebeest are gathered on either side of the Mara River and crossings
are continuously going on, though not on a daily basis at the moment.

Mara Triangle Parkgebühren |
|

The green 4 x 4 custom safari designed Landcruisers have been our trade mark for the past 11 years. It is time for us to change a little and we feel that the white roof does not reflect the eco-friendly image that we have gained over the years.

European citizens can obtain Kenyan visas upon arrival either in Nairobi or Mombasa Airport without any problem. Until recently it was possible to pay for Visas in Euros instead of USD. This was however changed and the Guests will now have to pay only using USD. It is important to note that bank notes which were printed before the year 2000 are not accepted in Kenya by the immigration department.

Safari for the Slum Children |
This year was not that easy for anybody in Kenya. The economy and its investments were hard hit. The setback in the tourism sector led to major job losses. Personal Safari report by Mr. Kampf for the year 2008 |
I traveled to the Masai Mara
Game Reserve from 13th to 27th September with a relatively substantial
group of 14 Photographers distributed in different vehicles. We
encountered leopards, lions with2-3 months old cubs, Cheetahs with cubs
barely 6 months old which were suckling, Black backed Jackal with young
ones, Serval cat and a bat eared fox, just to mention a few. During our
stay Masai Mara offered us almost its entire array of outstanding
wildlife.

A fourth type of wild cat |
In the first 02 weeks of September we came once again to Kenya. Having booked 02 reliable Sunworld Vehicles & most of all two knowledgeable and well experienced guides, we made our way to the famous Mara Game Reserve. It truly fulfilled all our dreams and exceeded our expectations. On every single day we were witnesses of the various types of big cats that exist in the wild, seeing them in their natural habit: hunting, playing, eating & sleeping.

A fairly recent law has been passed whereby Safari Guides are obliged to obtain a license as a “Safari Guide”. However, only a few guides seem to know about this requirement & have fulfilled the same so far. Currently all guides entering KWS (Kenya Wildlife Service run) parks must have this license in order to proceed with their safari / game drives in the various parks.
