Samburu Lodge is set in a rugged landscape with a backdrop of jagged mountains and its own indigenous wildlife unique to the region. The landscape and vegetation are very different to the lush rolling grass lands of other parks. Samburu is a place of leopard, lion, elephant, and crocodile and of the semi-nomadic Samburu people. It gives you a taste of the romance of the African Desert. Beautifully satiated on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River, everything at Samburu is geared to making the most of the lodge's setting.
There are 60 rooms in total, a wide choice of accommodation spread up and down the banks of the river in cottages, bandas, and single or twin rooms. All rooms are complete with a four- poster mosquito net.
Samburu Lodge will show you the dramatic wilderness from a world of fascinating perspectives: through early morning game drives, walking safaris with skilled Samburu guides, camel rides, and raft trips when the river is high. And there is plenty to fill the hours between those adventurous game drives - traditional Samburu dances, guided bird watches and a sparkling swimming pool.
