Letter from Dennis Mwangi:

I was born in 1983 in Maasai land. Being a Maasai, one of the nomadic tribes in Kenya, I got married under the Maasai customary laws and have been blessed with one child. Having grown up in an ecosystem where both the locals and wildlife co-existed peacefully, I developed a passionate, special interest in what later turned out to be my career as a Tour Guide and a Naturalist.

After my education, I enrolled as a trainee game ranger in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve for an extensive training to protect and conserve the ecosystem. It has always been my greatest passion to practice guiding whilst on observation and being able to provide knowledgeable guiding for guests on my own.

I am an active member of ‘Nature Kenya', where I specialize in ornithology, and am a proud member of the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association at the bronze level and striving to be a silver guide.

My first job was at Samburu Intrepids at Samburu Game Reserve as a naturalist, and later on I transferred to Maasai Mara Game Reserve to a sister company as a full time Safari Guide and Naturalist.  I perfected my career in nature walks, mountain climbing at that location, as well as my entire profession as a safari guide. The extensive research in bird watching, mammology, cultural tourism, guiding, eco tourism, photographic safaris, filming and documentaries all summarize my field of interest.

My hobbies are travelling, birdwatching and meeting new friends. I'm looking forward to conduct and guide more guests at Sunworld Safaris and share more of my knowledge, as I advance my skills and offer the best to all the clients.
