Introduction: I was born by Kikuyu parents in cosmopolitan Nairobi, capital of Kenya, in 1978.

Experience & Qualifications: BRONZE Guide (KPSGA).

Letter from Julius:

I was born by Kikuyu parents in a small family in cosmopolitan Nairobi, capital of Kenya, in 1978. I am a baptized Presbyterian and a KPSGA bronze level trained safari guide. My interest for nature and wildlife began back in elementary school which was located next to the Aberdare Mountain range in Central Kenya. I remember classes were regularly interrupted by elephant herds crossing the school compounds and at night, loud bush babies whilst rouge elephants would eat the night away to the agony of nearby farmers.

I was an active member of the Wildlife Clubs of Kenya, (a club for high school students interested in conservation) and then I trained for my passion for wildlife at Wildlife clubs of Kenya (WCK) Centre for tourism to receive a Certificate in tour guiding and a Diploma in tourism and wildlife studies.

Working experience: My knowledge was given a further boost by volunteering at Kenya Wildlife service (KWS), the chief custodian of Kenyan wildlife. I was involved in clean up activities, de-snaring, biodiversity conservation and at Nairobi park and Giraffe Centre. I spent time with Heritage Hotels, both at their Mara and Samburu Intrepids camps as a driver/guide, exploring both eco-systems extensively. But I learnt much of my guiding skills by working as a naturalist guide at Mbweha Camp in the Kenyan Rift Valley  near the world famous Lake Nakuru National Park.  I had the pleasure of conducting night game drives, bird walks, hikes and biking excursions for individuals and groups at Congreve Conservancy.

My passion for the industry
I have shifted house from JK Safaris to Sunworld Safaris which for any safari-guide in these field of work as a profession with prospects of career building is the right place to work at. Sunworld has a good base of competent and qualified people in the provision of experienced and specialized safari guides which I am passionate about. Since I love the outdoors and wildlife, I am committed to the deserving traveller. During my free time you would find me traveling, biking, playing indoor games and occasionally watching football. I have a girlfriend and a baby daughter. I also speak basic Spanish and enjoy interacting with people from diverse cultures.

My goal is to become a Silver Guide !
