Leonard Kipkorir Sigei
My name is Leonard Kipkorir Sigei. I was born in Bomet district of the Rift Valley province on 4th April 1967. I am married and have two children. Throughout my education I have had enormous interest in languages, nature and interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds. In 1991 I was offered an opportunity to study German language at the international Institute for cultural exchange and languages in Bonn Germany. I managed to complete the Basic level within 6 months, after which I joined Fachochschule in Cologne Germany where I took a two semester course in German. My desire to learn more German grew even more, and in 1993 joined the University of Essen where I studied communication Science and Anglistic. This was a good opportunity for me to improve both my written and spoken German as well as my communication skills because German was used as a language of instruction throughout. I used this opportunity to learn the German literature and develop a better understanding of the German culture. After completing my studies in 1998, I was employed by Warner Brothers Movie World in Germany where I worked in Operations and Entertainment Departments, before changing to Karstadt Ag in 2001. I returned to Kenya in 2003 and joined Dominion Institute for Business Studies as German language Tutor and Translator for both German and English. I have had the chance to guide several German speaking guests on their Safaris. I have a good knowledge of animals, the people of Kenya, the History of Kenya and its Geography. I believe language, information, courtesy and honesty are very important aspects in the Tourism industry. My Hobbies are, reading, watching football and hiking when time allows I also enjoy meeting new friends and exchanging new ideas. |
