| A fourth type of wild cat |
|
Wolfgang Schäfer
There was a 04th cat that we discovered through our binoculars. Our guide John with his eagle eyes discovered a Serval cat in the high yellow grass. We were able to follow her closely while watching and photographing her during a hunt. Her prey were guinea pig like animals. She chewed these various times and then swallowed them as a whole. We suspected that she had young ones in her den that needed to be fed but never saw any cubs. The next day some other fellow guests at the Bush Camp found two tiny young Serval cat cubs playing in the grass and around a large termite hill. This was truly a wonderful & very rare sight as a Serval cat is mostly nocturnal & active only during the night. More Information about Wolfgang Schäfer: http://www.naturfotoschaefer.de |
