| The birth of a giraffe near the Mara Bush Camp |

Not only the great wildebeest migration is a highlight in the Masai Mara; especially in January to March the birth of many different animals can be observed. For excample, not far from the Mara Bush Camp a giraffe baby and hippo baby were born. The guests of the Mara Bush Camp were able to attend these events with great enthusiasm. Nature photographer Alf Drosdziok was so kind to provide us with some photos of the giraffe birth. Mr Drosdziok wrote: The big highlight was the birth of a giraffe baby. On Feb 05 at 9:30 am a little giraffe came into this world near the Mara Bush Camp. After much effort and 10 attempts the baby managed to stand for the first time and shortly after, the mother was able to direct the baby to where it would find the milk. It was something very special to experience, as even our driver had never seen this either. All the passengers decided to baptize the baby in the name of Marion.
