Margarete grew up in south west England and studied anthropology, although nowadays she is far more interested in animal behaviour. During the last twenty years she has travelled extensively in sub-Saharan Africa with her camera.

I am based in Cornwall after many years of living in and photographing Australia.
I bought my first camera to take my mind off my then ‘day’ job. What I found was that looking through the lens not only distracted me from the stresses of the IT world, but I also saw the world in a different way. While my taste in subjects is eclectic, my passion for birds and wildlife meant a fast transition through the compact range of cameras to digital SLR’s which means I can now not only see my different world, but I can also bring it closer to me.
