We have just returned from nearly 2 weeks at the Mara Bush camp, from a visit that was nearly 2 years in the planning.

Our contact in the UK, Sonal, was fantastic - she listened carefully to our needs and came up with pretty much the perfect itinery.

The Mara Bushcamp is a delightful place. With only 6 tents the staff learn everyones names and it is a bit like a houseparty (but not "overdone"). The camp is perfectly situated to see the maximun amount of wildlife

As keen amateur photographers who have visited East Africa before we have very precise requirements about what we want to see and how the vehicle is positioned to see it. Our guide was Stanley - he cheerfully worked 13 hour days for us, unfailingly finding us the subjects we wanted to see, and cheerfully moving the vehicle a few inches at a time to give us the correct viewpoint.

We saw an enormous variety of wildlife:

Lion and cubs, Leopard and cubs, Cheetah and cubs, Jackal and pups, Bat eared Foxes, river crossings and much more.

We have over 9000 images between the 2 of us, so we are going to have a very busy time editing them.

I have no hesitation in recommeding the whole of the Sunworld operation - it is absolute excellent from start to end.

Liebes Sunworld-Team,

We had a great safari experience. John, our driver, was charming, friendly
and knowledgeable and drove us far and wide in search of the "Big Nine". I'm
delighted to say that with his help we saw seven of the big nine during our
short trip - only the rhino and the leopard eluded us. John was a good, safe
driver and even as we skidded over a quagmire of mud we felt we were in
capable hands and he soon got us back on dry land with good humour and
patience. As well as seeing many animals, birds and plants, we visited a
Masai village - funnily enough this felt like the most "packaged" part of
the trip and was the time I enjoyed least as a result - but Michelle really
enjoyed it, so obviously everything is relative. One highlight for me was
stopping off at the Tanzanian border and having our picture taken half in
Kenya, half in Tanzania. Great fun.

The campsite was good, run on environmentally sound principles butn of course, this meant less electricity and hot water than some people might
have liked. For us this was not a problem - in fact we were delighted as we did have reservations about the impact of safaris on the environment and being in this type of campsite helped to salve our consciences a little. The tents were comfortable and we loved the surprise of a Masai-tartan covered hot water bottle every night! Very cosy - a real treat!

The staff at the camp were very friendly but not intrusive and were happy to
deal with all our requests.

We had a packed breakfast and packed lunch every day as we set off each day
at 6.30am - these were adequate, plenty in them but breakfast and lunch was
virtually the same and it wasn't very exciting fare. The food was good in
the evenings - particularly the pork which for some reason surprised me!
Delicious and I'm amazed they were able to produce this with so few
facilities.

We flew back to Nairobi on a tiny prop plane - this was exhilarating
and gave us an opportunity to see the whole area from the air as we were
quite low down as we flew.

So all in all a great adventure.
